CHILDBIRTH, NATURALLY.

I have been working professionally in childbirth for over fourteen years. I began my career as a doula in 2005, while pursuing my studies in midwifery, and I have over eight years of experience working as a Certified Professional Midwife. As a doula and midwife, I have attended more than 1,000 births (and counting)! This wide range of clinical experiences has provided the opportunity to support expecting parents, help them identify their preferences in childbirth, and empower them to claim that birth experience.

I received my Certified Professional Midwife credential in 2011 and am certified and licensed to practice as a midwife. I maintain certifications in Advanced Lifesaving in Obstetrics (ALSO), neonatal resuscitation (NRP) and adult and child CPR. I have a comprehensive understanding of a variety of childbirth methods including The Bradley Method, Birthing From Within and Hypnobabies. I have also completed the DONA training for birth doulas.

My goal is to provide parents with the support and knowledge necessary to make informed decisions in pregnancy, labor, birth and for their newborn baby. I hold a deeply seated philosophy that childbirth is not a medical event, even when medical care is a part of birth and I work to encourage women to trust their bodies in the birth process.
